Heimatlos

Homelessness. A problem only few people in our society are thinking about. Keeping the excuse »It's their own fault!« in mind, we avoid questioning the story behind the homeless.

The project Heimatlos? (Homeless?) aims at finding socially relevant content on the topic »integration and community« – we chose to focus on the community of homeless people. Understanding the topic as a new beginning, we created a transmedial concept that was adapted on the target group: Our aim was to show the issue from a different perspective and to avoid the »black and white cliche«. Furthermore, the new beginning is represented by a typography that is arranged at different positions in the flexible layout. Using this system, the title is splitted into two parts – »home« and »less?« – which aims to let the reader question his prejudices. Outcoming results are a photo exhibition, text authoring, a magazine and an app for iPads.
