3287 people die in road crashes everyday – and more than half of all road traffic deaths occur among young adults ages 15-44. Care wants to change that.

The app Care helps young people to understand the importance of driving safety and to stay safe on the road. In order to create an user-centered experience, I started with a research regarding topic and target group, which is between 15 and 20 years old. Part of the analysis were a content inventory, user and persona analysis, traffic flows, cardsorting, navigation paths and the final architecture. Afterwords I was able to create wireframes, which were the basis for the design. The final navigation allows for filtering by a learning and playing mode – animations, statistics and texts explain safety devices; and in a reality-based game the user can see what happens if he uses these devices or not. In addition, the search bar function uses hashtags in order to find a result faster. The visual appearance is marked through a minimalistic design which is highlighted with a bright purple color. Icons, font and colors add a fresh, modern and friendly character. All in all, the app is an attractive tool for education and a good alternative for the common driver's manual book.
